Reclaim: My Word of the year

As the calendar turns and a new year unfolds, I've chosen a single word to guide me: Reclaim. This word isn't just a theme; it's a declaration, a promise, and a compass. It's about taking back what's been lost, overlooked, or surrendered - intentionally or otherwise. It's a call to action and an invitation to growth.

Why Reclaim?

The word 'reclaim' resonates with me because it's about rediscovery and renewal. It holds a sense of empowerment and organisation. Life has a way of pulling us into countless directions, leaving little room to nurture ourselves or honor what truly matters. So this year, I'm making it a priority to:

Reclaim my Time

It's easy to let obligations and distractions take of my days. By setting boundaries and prioritising what aligns with my values, I aim to use my time intentionally and meaningfully.

Reclaim my Voice

Whether in relationships, at work or within my own internal dialogue, I've at times silenced myself to keep the peace or avoid conflict. This year, I'll speak my truth with courage and compassion.

Reclaim my Space

Both physical and mental clutter can weigh us down. By decluttering my surroundings and my mind, I am going to create space for peace, growth and maybe even some creativity.

Reclaim my Joy

Joy can get buried under stress, routine and obligations. This year, I'm actively seeking out moments that bring laughter, connection and appreciation.

So, that's my 2025 Word of the Year. Have you chosen one for yourself?
